For Children With Learning Differences   Charis Hills is a Christian special needs, recreational summer camp helping children with learning differences build confidence and find success. We serve campers ages 7-18. We welcome campers with ADHD, Learning Disabilities, speech/language and hearing impairment, emotional/behavioral challenges including high functioning Autism and Asperger's. Dallas Zoo Conservation, Education and Science   Every Day Is a Field Trip at Dallas Zoo's New Preschool and Spring Break Camp Check in to the Dallas Zoo's Preschool and Spring Break Camp classes, which offer unique educational opportunities for children who love animals. Nature Tykes and A-Zoo Preschool Safari are 12-week programs for children ages 3 to 5. The first-ever Spring Break Camp at the Dallas Zoo is available for children in kindergarten through fifth grade. Preschool programs follow early-childhood curriculum guidelines for Texas TEKS and the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) and include goals for the Council for Environmental Education. Children develop skills in language, literacy, phonemic awareness, creative arts, problem solving, critical thinking, mathematical skills, scientific thinking and observation, and cooperation and social skills. Each day students participate in group discussions, songs, stories, games, art projects, math, and literacy activities about the live animal visitor they will meet in the classroom. They will take a tour in the Zoo and receive a nutritional snack. The three-hour classes are offered one day per week, and are limited to 20 students led by two certified teachers per class. Inspiring Kids to Rock on Stage and in Life   We believe the best way to learn music is to play music. We take students from the lesson room to the stage, developing both their confidence and musicianship with programs designed for all skill levels. School of Rock teaches guitar, bass, vocals, keyboards, drums and combines weekly private music lessons and group band rehearsals to prepare students to take the stage in front of live audiences in an authentic concert setting. Where Imagination is Education   The Magik Theatre was created as a voice for young people and families throughout the region. It began in 1994 as an offshoot of The Commerce Street Stage, a professional theatre for both adults and youth. About a year after the Commerce Street Stage began, I decided the city needed a full time professional theatre for youth and their families. This was what we were meant to be, and so, the Magik Theatre was born. Dallas Zoo Conservation, Education and Science   Every Day Is a Field Trip at Dallas Zoo's New Preschool and Spring Break Camp Check in to the Dallas Zoo's Preschool and Spring Break Camp classes, which offer unique educational opportunities for children who love animals. Nature Tykes and A-Zoo Preschool Safari are 12-week programs for children ages 3 to 5. The first-ever Spring Break Camp at the Dallas Zoo is available for children in kindergarten through fifth grade. Preschool programs follow early-childhood curriculum guidelines for Texas TEKS and the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) and include goals for the Council for Environmental Education. Children develop skills in language, literacy, phonemic awareness, creative arts, problem solving, critical thinking, mathematical skills, scientific thinking and observation, and cooperation and social skills. Each day students participate in group discussions, songs, stories, games, art projects, math, and literacy activities about the live animal visitor they will meet in the classroom. They will take a tour in the Zoo and receive a nutritional snack. The three-hour classes are offered one day per week, and are limited to 20 students led by two certified teachers per class. Cost for the 12-week series is $270 for Dallas Zoological Society members and $300 for non-members. Individual weekly sessions are available. Where Education Meets Adventure in the Heart of the Florida Keys   The Newfound Harbor Marine Institute (NHMI) program was started in 1970 for the purpose of complementing Seacamp Association's mission to provide experiential marine science education opportunities.
